Brides-to-be have a lot of questions. Where should you get married? What kind of gown should you buy? Who should cater it? How fast can I get in shape to look my best? When it comes to bridal fitness, brides often have a lot of questions about what they can achieve before their wedding or what is the most effective. Here are the biggest wedding fitness questions – answered!



Question No. 1: Where Can I Find the Time to Exercise?

You may feel as if you’re burning the candle at both ends when it comes to planning your wedding, so where on earth can you find the time to exercise? The answer: You make the time.


Don’t lose sight of how important your mental, emotional, and physical fitness is going into the big day. As Los Angeles personal trainer Lalo Fuentes, CSCS, says, “You have to look at the time you take out of your busy schedule as time you’re devoting to yourself. This time is needed to stay balanced in hectic times.”


If you can fit in just 20 minutes a day three to four times a week to exercise, then you can make a difference in your health. You may be surprised by just how much better you feel with regular exercise. If you’re nervous that you won’t stick to the commitment, then make yourself more accountable by working with a personal trainer or signing up for an exercise class. Question No. 2: My Wedding is in a Month – Can I Lose 20 Pounds?

No. Sorry to burst your bubble, but any Los Angeles personal trainer will tell you that dropping that much weight that quickly is unhealthy and won’t make you look better. The most you can expect to lose healthily is 8 pounds in a month. Any more than that and chances are the pounds you drop will be water weight and muscle – and that won’t leave you looking your best for you big day.


You’re better off losing less in the time you have because that will actually help you to achieve the look you’re going for. But beyond that, don’t wait until the last minute to try and get fit for your wedding – it takes time, so try to give it the time it needs as not to damage your health.


Question No. 3: How Important is Exercise? Can I Just Diet?

Personal trainers such as Lalo Fuentes, CSCS, will always recommend a combination of a proper diet and exercise to meet your wedding fitness goals. That’s because stretching, toning, and more vigorous workouts are essential to look your best on your wedding day and every day.
