Staying Healthy with a Busy Schedule

Look around you – everyone is busy! Hectic schedules have become a way of life for many people. But as your Los Angeles personal trainer can tell you, staying healthy with a hectic schedule isn’t impossible. In fact, there are some solid strategies you can use to help you stay healthy and fit no matter how many responsibilities you’re juggling. Here are a few things you can incorporate into your busy schedule that make health a priority.

Start at Home

Keeping your kitchen well-stocked with healthy foods is essential to staying healthy. That way, when you’re hungry on your way home from work or running errands, you know you have something good-for-you to munch on. If your kitchen isn’t stocked with fresh foods that support your health and fitness goals, then it’s easier to give into temptations such as takeout throughout the week.

Pack It Up

“One of the biggest pitfalls people experience when it comes to healthy eating is what to eat when they’re out and about,” says Los Angeles personal trainer Lalo Fuentes, CSCS, “You can avoid this challenge by packing your lunch as well as healthy snacks.”

Prepping your lunch and a few snacks to take with you to work or when you’re going to be away from the house is a great strategy to help you stay healthy. You can make your mornings less chaotic by planning your lunches and snacks for the week and then prepare them the night before.

Exercise Everywhere

Believe it or not, you can exercise just about anywhere. After all, exercise is about getting your body moving, so find small ways to sneak more movement in. You can take a walk at lunch, take the stairs instead of the elevator, perform a few stretches at your desk, or ride your bike to work instead of driving (if you can!). Even at home, you can sneak in exercise by doing a few moves during the commercial breaks on television or walking in place while you cook. Health professionals recommend 30 minutes of moderate exercise most days of the week, but that 30 minutes doesn’t have to be in a row!

Working with a Los Angeles personal trainer can help, too. They can create a plan tailored not only to your likes and dislikes but also your time. You might be surprised at just how much exercise you can fit into your schedule when you have a professional hand to guide you.

Make Time for Sleep

No matter how busy you are, your body needs rest. That means you need to make quality sleep a priority. Los Angeles personal trainers know that you need sleep for the three R’s: rest, rejuvenate, and refuel. Adults should get seven to eight hours of good quality sleep each night.

Living healthily can be done even with the world’s busiest schedule. With just a little bit of planning and the help of personal trainers like Lalo Fuentes, CSCS, you can make healthy living a part of your life!
